Elephants (Donation Print)

A note from myself;

When I was growing up, I was always drawn to animals and their beauty. From feeding our family pets under the table to crying about animals locked up in cages and asking why they can't be free. Volunteering has become a huge part of my life from dog rescue centres, saving birds to volunteering at nature parks. The influence animals have had on my life is profound and has shaped the person I am.

In 2015, I volunteered at the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai, Thailand. I was already aware of the horrors of the elephant logging and tourism industry. I found the nature park through meticulous research. Many tourism traps pose as 'sanctuary's' when unfortunately they are mistreating the beautiful beings. I wanted to be sure I was going to be volunteering at a legitimate sanctuary.

I was completely humbled by the work of Lek Chailret who is the founder of the Elephant Nature Park in Chiang Mai. Lek is originally from a small hill tribe village, Baan Lao, where her grandfather was known as a healer of people and animals. This is where Lek found her love for all living. Lek began advocating the rights of animals and pushed for a paradigm shift in the way wild and domesticated elephants were to be treated. This took determination and perseverance. Today Lek has achieved her goal of making the world aware of the elephants voice.

The Elephant Nature Park relies on eco and consciously aware visitors to support the continued care of the rescued herd. When COVID-19 hit this had a huge impact on the resources and funding. I knew I had to do something to help and try to raise awareness. This is when I decided the best way to do this is through my brand, Anaphe and we created the 'Elephants' print.

I could not think of better way to raise awareness than to ask people to wear the message and at the same time raise money to purchase fruit buckets.

For every print purchased, Anaphe purchases fruit buckets from The Elephant Nature Parks website directly.

We hope you love wearing our print as much as we love Elephants.
